Apex Bone Collector BC4514CF Review

Apex Bone Collector BC4514CF Review

Apex Bone Collector BC4514CF Pin Sight Review

Right out of the package the clear plastic inner rim was scraped as if rubbed with sand paper. The primarily all metal construction had a very solid feel with a nice matte finish. The Apex Bone Collector pin sight review we performed was done using a Bowtech Destroyer 350.

Bone Collector BC4514CF Pin Sight adjustment Review

Amazingly right away the adjustment was a very nice feature with micro click adjustments and no allen wrench needed for fine tuning adjustments. While sighting in we hit a wall not allowing us to adjust the sights to the left anymore with the micro adjust feature and we were still grouping 4 inches to the left. With a little further inspection we found the allen key adjustment to loosen up and completely move the site housing over for a full rage of sighting. Once grouping in the vicinity of the target with an allen key, the fine tune modules on the top and side make super fine tuning for pin point accuracy a breeze.

Bone Collector BC4514CF pins and lighting system review

This particular model had a push button lighting system which did seem to be quicker then the turn style pin sight lights. The push button light needed a  very firm deep center push to actually get it to engage, it does not smoothly click on and click off which was a minor disappointment. The pin sight sizing was very well thought out and definitely helped improve overall accuracy. The smaller diameter pins are located at the bottom for your furthest distance, and the two pins above being slightly larger yet still smaller then most pin sights out there.

Pin sizes:

  • 2 Pins at .019
  • 2 Pins at .010

The lighting was surprisingly very bright in all conditions.  For some this is acceptable and for others a bright light isn’t appreciated as much. The pins had a sharp light even in broad day light and had no glare unless looked at from a non-shooting position. Looking straight down the center, all that is seen is 4 crisply lit pin sights and a vague indication of the lighting source.

  • First picture is day light/ Light off
  • Second picture is day light/ Light on
  • Third picture is complete darkness solely lit by the push button light

Bone Collector BC4514CF Pin Sight  Overview

Priced at right around $100 the Apex Bone Collector BC4514CF is a very solid Archery equipment investment. Overall the performance and micro adjust ability was great. The pin sizing was spot on and the lighting was crisp and bright even in very bright conditions.  If it had a smoother on off push button this sight would be amazing.
